Creating Highlights & Lowlights with Hair Extensions

Besides that gorgeous instant length and volume, hair extensions are undoubtedly the best choice to add any hair color (highlights and lowlights) to your hair looks without you actually dying your hair. Not only does this technique gives you multiple hair goals and access to various lovely color combos in a jiffy but taking a break from highlighting and lowlighting your locks will also make them a lot healthier.

Whether you wish for that gorgeous ombre, subtle highlights or opulent low lights using any bold or refined colors-it can all be done by using some luscious hair extensions that go so well with your own hair.

Note: Tape in extension beauties are your best bet for adding in some chemical free shade as the wefts are flawless in size, letting you customize the shade choice. They’re also great for bonding two different shades together by utilizing two or more hues to create that luscious multi-tonal, color-melting look.

HOW TO CREATE HIGHLIGHTS AND LOWLIGHTS WITH HAIR EXTENSIONS?

Simply add in two hues (for lowlights use strands darker than you natural locks and for highlights use wefts that are lighter) and “sandwich or bond the two shades together to create a single bond. Continue doing this all over the hair and create that vava-voom color melt lowlight/highlight feel. Remember to choose one of the two highlight/lowlight shades very closely to the base color for them to perfectly go with your natural hair.

For example, if you’ve got brown hair and you’ve chosen two blond shades as highlight to work with, it won’t look that appealing. Instead go for a lightish brownie gold shade that goes with your own hair and then a secondary shade that you’d want as a highlight. Make sure you’ve enough locks installed for an impeccably, blended surreal look that’s sure to turn heads.

THE BEAUTIFUL OMBRE' HAIR EXTENSIONS LOOK

We love how ombres add more dimension and life to your hair and make them standout even more.

For shorter to medium hair, getting an ombre is pretty easy. All you need is more wefts of clip-in hair extensions while going for this look as you have to cover every layer of your natural hair to have your own hair blended in well and give a true ombre feel.  Keep in mind that you can play around with 1-3 shades within your luxe ombre colors and it’ll  still blend well. We love the popular chestnut brown ombre look and how it gives you that glow from within. You can even go for a more dramatic feel with shimmering blonds, reds, blues, black- whatever you like.

If you’ve got longer hair, you’d need to already have your hair ends colored to ensure that the extensions you’ve opted for goes with your current hair. If you’ve a solid hair shade and you go for ombre hair extensions, it won’t look natural.
